Games

We love playing games - it's a great way to learn! Have you created a game that you'd like to share with friends? It can be a board game, a card game, a game with dice, or a game you play outside with your friends - chasey, hide'n'seek, ball game, etc. Or perhaps it's a word game? We'd love to hear from you! See the submission guidelines on the Games Index page to find out how to have your story published in Unschool~Kidz!

The Leapfrog Game

submitted by Kirsten

The short history is that the Game of The Goose is believed to have originated sometime in the 16th century in Florence, though other books put it as having been of German origin a century earlier. It reached its height in popularity in France in the 1700s.

The original boards were embroidered on cloth or painted on wooden boards and had more adult reasons for missing a turn that related to
taverns and gaols etc The spiral nature of the game is consistent in all cases. Children as young as 4 can play it with a little help.
