Surprise Party

by Shannon, age 7

Once upon a time there was Mrs. Petunia Pig and Mr. Porky Pig. They lived on a flower field with lots of pretty rocks and pretty flowers. The flowers looked like they were made of crystal because they had little drops of water on them and were shining in the sun. At the end of the field there was long grass and behind that was a mud patch next to the river.

One day Bugs came hopping in. He was a great hopper. He knew Petunia from rabbit school and lived right next door to her field. He often came to buy some carrots and some other things he liked to eat. The pigs owned a fruit and veg shop and Porky always had a crate full of carrots. Porky always dropped some and Bugs would be there to eat them.
Tom and Jerry had been sending out invitations to a surprise party for Lucky, Maggie and Sooty's first birthday party. When Petunia got her invitation she made a chocolate and raspberry cake.

The party was at the top of the cat's favourite roof on their mother's old house. There were two special ladders for the animals to climb up from. Jerry had his own little mouse ladder which led to a mouse hole on the roof. The pig used the other ladder which was like a slide but with humps so they could climb up it.

There were lots of animals there, Porky and Petunia pig, Mully the seagull, Tom and Jerry, Bugs the rabbit, Pelican Pete, Woofer the dog and his sister Jess and mother cat.

They turned out the lights and kept very quiet while they waited for Lucky, Maggie and Sooty to come in. They were all given a torch and when the cats came in they turned them on. The cats didn't know what it was and the next thing they knew the lights came on and all the animals shout "SURPRISE!"

The cats had a very nice party and thought that Petunias cake tasted yummy especially the chocolate. There mother gave them each a picture of them when they were babies. Bugs gave them some carrots, Pelican Pete gave them a fishing rod. Tom and Jerry gave them a cartoon video of their show. Woofer and Jess gave them each a new collar with their names on. Mully gave Sooty some shiny shells and some toys to Lucky and Maggie.

The party went very late and all the animals were invited to stay the night. They were all very excited but very tired too. Before they went to sleep they all agreed that they couldn't wait for the cats to turn two.
